Kathy Herrington was born on Long Island in New York. She is currently our grade 5 classroom teacher. This is her 2nd year teaching at Greensboro Islamic Academy. Mrs. Herrington has an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has been teaching for over 17 years, both locally and internationally. She has participated in numerous workshops for the International Baccalaureate program in London, France, Romania, and Saudi Arabia. A highlight of her career was assisting with the accreditation for the first IB school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This school was originally established for girls, but now educates more than 3000 young boys and girls ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. Mrs. Herrington is a proud muslimah who says she feels “blessed” to play a role in educating our young muslims.
